Assessment & Therapy Through the Lifespan

At Reflect Neuropsychology we specialize in counseling, therapy, and the neuropsychological assessment of children and adults. It's all we do. This allows us to be a highly specialized practice that focuses on personally-tailored, evidenced-based, treatment and evaluation for people of all ages (from very young children to older adults).

Our team of both Pediatric and Adult Neuropsychologists tailor each assessment to meet the needs of each patient. This allows us to comprehensively characterize developmental, behavioral and cognitive changes resulting from neurocognitive difficulties such as ADHD, dyslexia (and other learning differences), autism (ASD), stroke, dementia (i.e., Alzheimer's disease), traumatic brain injury (TBI), concussions, etc. We offer both clinical and forensic services, and are proud to be a powerhouse of local (e.g., San Fernando Valley, Ventura County, Simi Valley, and the greater Los Angeles area) resources for families.

Speciality Services

What is Neuropsychology?

Clinical neuropsychology is a sub-specialty of clinical psychology that specializes in the assessment and treatment of patients with brain injury or disease.

A clinical neuropsychologist holds a doctorate in clinical psychology (i.e., Ph.D. or Psy.D.), and has completed a clinical internship and specialized post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology. What distinguishes a clinical neuropsychologist from other clinical psychologists is knowledge of the brain, including an understanding of areas such as neuroanatomy and neurological disease. The discipline involves the application of standardized measures in the study of brain behavior relationships. They use neuropsychological tests to assess cognitive deficits, and they are involved in the management, treatment and rehabilitation of cognitively impaired patients. (American Neuropsychiatric Association).

Who Should Have a Neuropsychological Evaluation?

Neuropsychological services can be useful for many individuals with known or suspected brain dysfunction. Many conditions can affect brain functioning, including general medical conditions, neurological disease, and neuropsychiatric disease. Disorders may be developmental/genetic, acquired (e.g., concussions, traumatic brain injury), or of unknown etiology. Dr. Friedman and her associates routinely provide neuropsychological evaluation for individuals with:

  • Acquired brain injury (concussion, CTE, and TBI)

  • Cerebrovascular disease and stroke

  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Developmental Delays

  • Autism (ASD)

  • Concussions

  • Epilepsy

  • Learning Disability (i.e., dyslexia)

  • Mild Cognitive Development (MCI)

  • Dementia (Alzheimer's, Lewy Body Dementia, etc.)

  • Movement disorders (e.g., Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease)

  • Legal Capacity

  • Workers Compensation

  • Mood disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder)
